Incentive Warnemuende
The Baltic Sea resort of Warnemünde is a district in the north of the Hanseatic city of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Together with the district of Diedrichshagen, it forms the urban area of Warnemünde. The name Warnemünde derives from the mouth of the Warnow in the Baltic Sea and was first mentioned in Danish documents in 1195. Warnemünde has belonged to Rostock since 1323. For many centuries, Warnemünde was mainly a small port and fishing village until the tourist bathing business began around 1821. Every summer, the Warnemünde Week and the Hanse Sail take place in the district, each attracting around a million visitors. Warnemünde is also the most important cruise port in Germany.
The Hanse Sail is an annual meeting of traditional sailors in Warnemünde. It is also part of the Baltic Sail series, in which traditional sailing ships and tall ships head for various Baltic Sea ports in the summer. Tall and traditional sailing ships, cruise ships, ferries and other large seagoing vessels come to Rostock every year on the second weekend in August. During the Hanse Sail, the cruise port in Warnemünde is always busy. The sailors' meeting is accompanied by a folk festival that offers a wide range of culture and entertainment.

Cleanliness of beaches and water:
Warnemünde was repeatedly with the "Blue Flag", the environmental symbol for clean beaches and water quality. The beach is cleaned daily in high season and three times a week in low season. The beach cleaning covers an area of approx. 7,5 kilometers of beach from Diedrichshagen to the western pier and from the eastern pier to Markgrafenheide (Rosenort). The amount of garbage collected and disposed of varies between 1 and 4 tons per day, depending on the season and weather conditions. This is exactly where team events set an example and are organized in groups to collect rubbish on the beach. True to the motto "no plastic with the fish", this is a great sustainable team campaign.
Locomotion: Warnemünde is on the Baltic Coast Cycle Route affiliated as one of the European EuroVelo-Routes circumnavigated the Baltic Sea.
