Where is St. Peter-Ording?
Almost 140 km north of Hamburg you can reach the wonderful little town of St. Peter-Ording in the north of Germany. Arrive and take a deep breath: lively, inspiring and traditional, this place with its extra wide sandy beach is full of positive energy. The longest signposted cycle path in the world leads directly to the North Sea holiday in St. Peter-Ording. The North Sea Cycle Route runs through Schleswig-Holstein with a length of 300km.
UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea
Walk across the bottom of the sea? You can experience that in St. Peter-Ording, where they are right in the middle with their feet. A change between high and low tide takes place every 6 hours in the Wadden Sea. Endless expanses, fresh North Sea air and mudflat hikes ensure natural relaxation. The Wadden Sea has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009, and there are more than 441.000 animal species on 10.000 hectares.

Lighthouses
The most well-known lighthouse in Germany is located on the Eiderstand in Westerhever. It is a navigation mark and an attraction at the same time. When the weather is nice, you can see almost 41 meters from the surrounding platform. The landmark is surrounded by salt marshes and not far from the outer dike and can therefore only be reached by bike or on foot. The Böhler lighthouse was built in 1892 and is located directly in St. Peter-Ording. It serves as a cross mark and orientation light to mark the Eider fairway.
