adebar GmbH celebrated its 20th anniversary with a poetry slam, an animated film about its history and a shanty song of its own.

An anniversary party with a difference

Founder and owner Anne Horstmann celebrated with the adebar team and 150 invited guests. On 1 February 2017 adebar turned exactly 20. We celebrated at Studio 301 in Rostock, festive but relaxed and full of variety.

We presented 20 years of ideas for and with our guests in many different ways. Sometimes artistic, sometimes inventive and always with that typical adebar wink.

Poetry slam and welcome speeches

Poetry slammer Anne Kalkbrenner mused about her search for a job. Her conclusion: event management is best left to the professionals at adebar, the “Men in Black” of the events scene! With verve and humour, she opened the official programme.

Host Anne Horstmann welcomed the guests first. Then Claus Ruhe Madsen, President of the Rostock Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK zu Rostock), and Tobias Woitendorf, Deputy Managing Director of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Tourism Association, took the floor. Their congratulations went down very well with the audience.

This was followed by a short journey through time with anecdotes and memories from Anne Horstmann. It began with the first incentive on the island of Rügen in 1998, still an exotic format back then. It ended with large events in Hamburg for up to 1,000 guests in the two years before.

Animated film and shanty

After the speech by the managing partner came another artistic look at adebar. The team from Salon Salopp often made the guests smile with their animated film “Der perfekte Moment” (The Perfect Moment).

To round off the official programme, the young Rostock shanty choir “Blowboys” got the guests going. They sang a shanty written especially for adebar:

„adebar Viktoria, wide wide witt juch heissassa!“

A relaxed end to the evening

Afterwards the evening carried on at a relaxed pace, with a varied buffet, cool drinks and lots of conversation. Guests could explore virtual worlds with VR headsets and try their hand at paper art. An illustrated journey through time told the story of adebar. A pyrographer drew portraits of guests with sparklers, and anyone who wanted could have an analogue photo taken.
