At a glance

A few days away in Denmark's capital make for a first-class incentive. Copenhagen lies on the island of Zealand and is the largest city in Scandinavia. Its landmark and Danish national symbol is a genuinely small bronze mermaid. She sits on the Langelinie quay at the entrance to the harbour.

The city offers everything that makes a big city, yet stays as easy to navigate as a small town. If you like cycling or walking short distances, you'll feel right at home. Smørrebrød comes in countless variations, and the next hyggelig café is never far away.

Danish design is known all over the world. Along the water, royal buildings stand right next to fashionable venues. Nyhavn used to be a busy trading port. Today its old houses have been renovated and are home to elegant restaurants.

Directly opposite lies Paper Island with its food truck market. In the narrow lanes you'll find quirky shops and boutique hotels, alongside modern buildings such as the "Black Diamond", the Royal Library. On your trip you'll see the famous landmarks as well as hidden corners off the tourist trail.

Copenhagen, capital of architecture

  • Getting there

There are direct flights to Copenhagen from many German cities. We organise the transfer from the airport to the hotel. From there, the best way to explore the city is by bike. For longer distances there's the City Pass, which gives you unlimited travel by bus, train and metro to every stop on the programme.

  • Forest Tower

A day trip takes you to the Forest Tower, a structure in the middle of the woods that is truly one of a kind. It is only 50 minutes from Copenhagen by coach. The tower is 45 metres high and connected to a 900-metre treetop walk.

You walk along the wooden boardwalks, climb up to the viewing platform and look out far across the Danish countryside. It's an outing for anyone who loves architecture and nature.

  • Architecture

Copenhagen is regarded as the world capital of architecture. Its modern buildings put people, their everyday lives and their time together at the centre. One example: skiing in a city where it rarely snows.

A ski slope without snow was built on top of a waste incineration plant. CopenHill is well worth a visit. The Kastrup Sea Bath is another architectural gem with sweeping views. And those are just two of the city's many masterpieces.

  • Why an incentive in Copenhagen?

Looking for a modern place outside Germany for your team event? Then take your team to Copenhagen. The city suits incentives of every kind, whether active and sporty or relaxed and quiet. You'll also take home plenty of culture from the Danish capital.
