At a glance

Potsdam was once a royal residence. Its palaces and parks have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1990. A popular destination is Sanssouci Palace, built by Frederick the Great, with its large park. Add to that the old town with its Dutch Quarter, the Russian colony of Alexandrowka, the Museum Barberini, small cafés, galleries and magnificent villas.

The capital of Brandenburg lies on the Havel, right on Berlin's doorstep. All around stretches a landscape of lakes: reed-fringed shores, wide lakes, palaces and gardens along the Havel. Team building on the water, a conference on board a boat or an active event on land all fit in equally well here.

Berlin around the corner, lots of green space and plenty of history: that's why Potsdam is so popular as an incentive destination. With our full service we plan your event and bring ideas of our own.

  • Getting there and getting around

Potsdam is connected to Deutsche Bahn's long-distance and regional rail network. Long-distance trains stop at Berlin Hauptbahnhof. From there the S7 S-Bahn takes you to Potsdam's main station in 45 minutes.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is also close by. The RB 22 regional train links Potsdam to the airport every hour. The city lies within the Berlin motorway ring and is connected to all the main roads into Berlin. There are plenty of car parks near the city centre, and a citywide parking guidance system helps you find a space.

  • Palaces and gardens

More than 30 palaces and gardens in Berlin and Brandenburg tell of the era of the Prussian kings and queens. The Hohenzollern residences of Sanssouci in Potsdam and Charlottenburg in Berlin are world-famous. In Brandenburg there are also the palaces of Rheinsberg, Caputh, Königs Wusterhausen, Oranienburg and Paretz.

No palace is as closely linked to Frederick the Great as Sanssouci. It sits on the famous vineyard terraces, and its rooms have been preserved in their original 18th-century state. That brings you pretty close to the "philosopher of Sanssouci". The rooms show elegance and the king's love for his surroundings, his "Prussian Arcadia".

  • Potsdam and the surrounding area

Brandenburg has 2.5 million inhabitants across 29,476 square kilometres. That makes it one of the most sparsely populated German states. It is largely rural and has more water than any other state in Germany. In Potsdam, nextbike by TIER rents out bikes, and many venues can be reached via well-developed cycle routes.

  • What Potsdam has in store for your team

Palaces and parks give Potsdam and its surroundings a charm all of their own. Nature and architecture look particularly lovely from a boat. For rainy days there are plenty of indoor activities. It's a good fit if your team would like to experience nature and culture on one trip.

What our clients say

  • The staff were thrilled with the team building activity “We build a raft as a team”, and after all the planning and building, three working rafts were launched onto the water. We felt superbly looked after in every respect.

  • Both in the evening and again this morning, people were still talking about how lovely the beach Olympics were. The stations looked easy at first glance, but some of them were quite a challenge. That went down really well!
