At a glance

Würzburg lies on the River Main in Bavaria. It is a good base for incentives to motivate staff and for customer events. The city is known for the Franconia wine region, the Bocksbeutel (the traditional flat, round wine bottle) and its many wine taverns, wine cellars and wineries.

But conference guests will find more than wine here. There are the residences, the boat trip along the Main to Veitshöchheim and the famous Brückenschoppen, a glass of wine enjoyed on the old bridge. The main station, venues, conference centres and wine taverns are all just a few minutes' walk from each other. That is ideal for team building without long journeys.

Würzburg, my wealth of wine

  • The Lower Franconia wine region

Würzburg lies in Lower Franconia, one of Germany's most important wine regions. There is no shortage of wine festivals here. Eight vineyards lie within the city itself, and six more in the surrounding district. The whole region lives from wine, with wine trails and even vending machines full of good local wine.

  • Schloss Steinburg

This special hotel stands in the middle of a vineyard above the rooftops of Würzburg. Baroque splendour meets modern style here. There are elegant dining rooms and modern conference rooms, the hotel is owner-managed and the service is spot on. On top of that, it has one of the best views of Würzburg and the Main.

Picture this: you are sitting on the sunny terrace with a glass of wine from the vineyard right in front of the hotel. The glass reads: "What's the plural of wine? … A case!"

  • Würzburg Residence

This Baroque palace in the heart of Würzburg was built in the 18th century in just twenty-four years. The interior, overseen by Balthasar Neumann, was completed almost forty years later. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered the "most unified and extraordinary of all Baroque palaces". It is worth a visit for the Residence itself, for an evening event in the adjoining restaurant or in the palace beer garden.

  • The other side of Bavaria

Bavaria is not all the same. Würzburg is not about beer and lederhosen, but about good wine and Baroque buildings. Food and drink, history and exercise in the fresh air: every group finds its programme here.

What our clients say

  • Many thanks for the superb organisation of the iPad Challenge during our summer conference in Warnemünde. All our colleagues took part with great enthusiasm.

  • adebar organised a culinary city tour in Rostock for our annual management conference. The tour went smoothly, and our guide was incredibly likeable and informative. Although we only mentioned our wish for a Schwedeneisbecher (a local ice cream sundae) at short notice, this stop was built into the tour. That shows how spontaneous, individual and client-focused adebar is.
