At a glance

Sardinia is the second-largest island in Italy and in the Mediterranean. Within a small area, meadows and forests give way to valleys and plateaus, mountains and rocky coastline. Add to that beaches and coves.

Near Arbatax, the cliffs drop steeply into the sea. Elsewhere the wind has shaped granite rocks in which you might think you can make out bears, lions and other animals. Inland, everything is lush and green. A good place to switch off.

Culture and fine food have their place too. Modern hotels with dinner venues make Sardinia a popular destination for business events and team events. Whether your group is sporty or more interested in culture or cuisine, we have the right supporting programme.

Sardinia, a rugged beauty with many faces

  • Getting there and getting around

From Germany, the flight to Sardinia takes just two hours. The three main airports, all with international connections, are in Cagliari, Alghero and Olbia. There are flights from Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Cologne, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. A private transfer takes you from the airport to your destination. We organise everything so that you arrive relaxed.

  • Typical Sardinian food

Sardinia's five best-known dishes are seafood with saffron fregola, zuppa gallurese, porcheddu, spaghetti with sea urchin and bottarga.

In Italian, fregola means something like "breadcrumbs". This popular pasta is made from semolina rolled into small balls. There are hundreds of recipes, and it tastes best with seafood. Zuppa gallurese, or zuppa cuata, comes from Gallura in the north of the island. You might think so, but it is not a lasagne.

Porcheddu is suckling pig. It roasts for several hours on a spit over the fire, is seasoned with myrtle and served on a cork platter. Spaghetti with sea urchin is only available from November to April. After that, eating sea urchins is strictly forbidden. Bottarga comes from the small town of Cabras. The roe of the grey mullet is air-dried, pressed and finally smoked.

  • Monuments and burial sites

Sardinia has many archaeological treasures. They offer a glimpse into the island's early cultural history, parts of which are still unexplored. The Nuragic civilisation, found only in Sardinia, remains particularly mysterious to this day.

It developed around 1600 BC during the Bronze Age (opens in a new tab) from the Bonnanaro culture (opens in a new tab). It is named after its typical towers, the nuraghi (opens in a new tab). Prehistoric stone buildings of this kind and in these numbers exist only in Sardinia.

  • Nature in Sardinia

Between the sea and the mountains lie wide landscapes with great biodiversity, in numerous nature parks and marine protected areas. Sardinia is also one of the world's five "Blue Zones", where people live longer than average.

  • Why Sardinia makes a great incentive destination

Eating ice cream, lying in the sun, relaxing: Sardinia is very good at all of that. But the island is also a paradise for sport. Beautiful coastlines and mild water temperatures attract surfers and water sports fans. Then there are ruins and buildings from many different cultures, plus beaches, coves and grottoes. Plenty of material for an incentive your team will be talking about for a long time.
