Getting to know Stralsund

  • World Heritage Stralsund

Stralsund is known as the gateway to the Baltic Sea, and its architecture and history have earned it UNESCO World Heritage status. In the old town, with its well-preserved Brick Gothic buildings and narrow lanes, the Hanseatic past comes alive.

Highlights include St Mary's Church and the town hall. The historic harbour district is perfect for a stroll, and the city's maritime tradition can be felt everywhere. If you are interested in history, this is the place for you.

  • Ozeaneum Stralsund

No visit is complete without the Ozeaneum. This maritime discovery centre is part of the German Oceanographic Museum and shows the underwater world of the Baltic and other seas. Large aquariums, interactive exhibitions and educational programmes explain why protecting the oceans matters.

You can see colourful fish, sharks and living coral reefs. Add to that sweeping panoramic views of the Strelasund.

  • Sights

St Mary's Church is a masterpiece of Brick Gothic and one of Stralsund's landmarks. From its tall tower you can see far across the city and the Strelasund.

The town hall is another example of Hanseatic architecture. It has a magnificent façade and a lovely inner courtyard where cultural events take place regularly. The Gorch Fock is also moored in the harbour as a museum ship and tells the story of Germany's maritime tradition.

  • What a trip to Stralsund achieves

An incentive trip to Stralsund motivates employees and introduces them to the culture of the World Heritage city. A visit to the Ozeaneum or to the top of St Mary's tower brings people closer together.

The city has room for action and relaxation, from a team building workshop to a quiet day on the beach. You can go hiking and cycling in the surrounding area. Modern conference rooms and plenty of accommodation make for a comfortable stay.
