Bosseln in the fresh air: a moment from the team event (2)

A traditional Frisian sport

"Laat'n rulln!" (let it roll!) is the cry at Bosseln, the sociable team event from Northern Germany. On a Bosseln walk, you and your team spend a few cheerful hours in the fresh air. There is plenty of fun and team spirit along the way.

At least two teams compete against each other, throwing the Bossel (a heavy ball) along a set route. The goal? Throw the ball as far as possible and complete the route in as few throws as you can. Every good throw is celebrated. And anyone who strays off the path gets a tasty penalty schnapps!

We at adebar are happy to design this team experience for you. We can add further activities, provide a handcart with food and drinks or put together custom game sets. Bremen, Oldenburg, Hanover or the coast: we organise your Bosseln event.

How long does the Bosseln programme last?
As a rule, this team building event lasts no more than about 3 hours. The duration depends on the route. We adapt it to your schedule and to the group's stamina and enthusiasm.
Do I need special clothing for the Bosseln team event?
You don't need any special clothing. Wear comfortable clothes suited to the weather and sturdy shoes. The game is played on all kinds of surfaces, such as meadows, fields or roads.
How sporty do you need to be to play Bosseln?
Bosseln is a sociable leisure game. You don't need to be particularly fit. People of all ages and with very different levels of fitness join in. It's about fun, the shared experience and moving about in the fresh air. Athletic performance hardly matters, so even the less sporty have a great time. We take personal needs and physical abilities into account.
What exactly is Bosseln?
Bosseln is a traditional Frisian sport that is especially popular in Northern Germany. Two or more teams compete against each other, throwing a ball along a set route. It is played on paved paths, fields, meadows or roads. The aim is to reach the finish with as few throws as possible. Competition and fun go hand in hand. That is why Bosseln is so popular for company outings, celebrations and other social occasions.
How many kilometres do you walk during the Bosseln team event?
That depends on the route and the number of participants. The pace and mood of the group play a part too. Between throws there are breaks to look for the ball, celebrate or have a chat. With Bosseln, what counts is the shared experience, the team spirit and being active in the fresh air, not the stopwatch.
