Build playfully, work seriously

With the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method, teams show what they are really capable of. Brick by brick.

Today, collaboration and creative solutions play a big part in a company's success. Strengthening teams and developing ideas calls for new approaches. This is where the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method comes in.

It is a facilitated workshop process using the familiar colourful bricks. They bring back childhood memories. Above all, though, they lead to insights that go deeper than any ordinary meeting.

Tip: Funding may be available. Under certain conditions, workshops using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method can qualify for funding. In the context of staff development, further training or change processes, there are funding options that can take real pressure off your budget. Just get in touch and we will find the right route together.

Why team building with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® works

The method combines playful building with strategic thinking. Teams build models that make thoughts, challenges and visions tangible.

As people explain and reflect on their models, new perspectives emerge. The team grows closer and finds solutions that are concrete and built to last.

How a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® team building workshop works

  • Define the question, with support from the facilitator
  • Build models, individually or as a team
  • Tell the stories: what does your model mean?
  • Reflect and develop further until solutions emerge through dialogue
  • Everything is structured and facilitated. And there are plenty of smiles along the way.

Under certain conditions, workshops using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method are eligible for funding. This applies above all in the context of staff development, further training or change processes.

Which teams is the workshop particularly suited to?
A LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop suits companies of any size that want to move collaboration, innovation or change forward. It works especially well in strategy workshops, team development and change processes.
What are the benefits of team building with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®?
The method combines playful work with strategic thinking. This strengthens collaboration and brings out creative solutions. Participants also understand each other better afterwards, and the results stay with them for a long time.
How does a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop work?
The process follows a clear structure. First, the question is agreed. Then everyone builds models, tells the stories behind them, reflects and develops solutions. Professional facilitation guides the whole process and keeps it focused on your goals.
How long does LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® team building take?
That depends on your goal. A short impulse session takes 2 hours, while an in-depth strategy or team development process runs over 1–2 days. We set the duration flexibly to suit your needs.
Do participants need any prior knowledge?
No, everyone can take part. LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is designed so that all team members are equally involved, regardless of hierarchy, experience or expertise.

What our clients say

  • adebar organised a culinary city tour in Rostock for our annual management conference. The tour went smoothly, and our guide was incredibly likeable and informative. Although we only mentioned our wish for a Schwedeneisbecher (a local ice cream sundae) at short notice, this stop was built into the tour. That shows how spontaneous, individual and client-focused adebar is.

  • What your team put together for GECKO's 33rd birthday was amazing! The venue was simply fantastic, every single detail was lovingly designed, and working with you was so relaxed that we had a great deal of fun.

  • For our Chapter Summit 2021, adebar organised and ran the “raft building” event. In the end there were around 60 adults and children. The adebar team adapted wonderfully to this challenge, and the event was a complete success.
