Constructions with a loop and a free fall, built for accuracy

The adebar marble run challenge calls for inventiveness. Using the materials to hand, your team builds its own construction. The goal: a golf ball rolls gently through the run and lands softly in the target bucket.

It is not quite that simple, though. The run needs a 360-degree loop and a "free fall" from a height of 50 cm. So there is plenty of tinkering, measuring and discussing until everything works.

Building materials laid out on paving: pipes, bamboo canes, wheels, stools, cones and gutters

The marble run as a team challenge: what counts

A few things make all the difference if your marble run is going to work in the end.

  1. Teamwork and communication: teams that work well together and communicate clearly swap ideas faster, share out tasks sensibly and find solutions together.
  2. Creativity and innovation: unusual approaches pay off. They lead to a construction that works and meets all the requirements.
  3. Planning and strategy: with careful planning, your team builds efficiently and precisely. Problems are spotted early.
  4. Dexterity and precision: it takes accurate work and a steady hand for the golf ball to roll through the run under control and land safely in the target bucket.
  5. Team spirit and motivation: a good atmosphere and mutual support help everyone pull in the same direction.
  6. Fun and commitment: despite the competition, fun should not fall by the wayside. A team that enjoys the task often achieves the best results.

Where exactly does a marble run challenge take place?
Indoors or outdoors, depending on your wishes and the space available. Indoors, a spacious hall, a large function room or an indoor play centre works well, for example. Outdoors, the teams build in parks, gardens, meadows or other open spaces. Which location fits depends on the circumstances, the group size, the budget and the programme you have in mind. We take care of any permits, rooms and everything else that goes with it.
How much time should I allow for the "marble run challenge" team event?
The marble run challenge usually takes about 1 to 2 hours. Depending on the complexity of the construction, the number of teams and the group size, it may be shorter or longer. Allow enough time for every phase: gathering ideas, building, testing and the challenge itself. Then nobody feels rushed and everyone has fun.
Which team wins a marble run challenge?
Usually the team whose marble run works best and most creatively wins. Possible criteria include: The ball rolls the slowest and masters the required "free fall" and the loop. The construction meets the requirements with the greatest precision and skill. The team worked together particularly well during building and the challenge. The marble run impresses with creativity and fresh ideas. The criteria depend on the specifications and goals of your team event. In the end, the team that solves the task best and impresses with skill and team spirit wins.
How many people should you plan for in the marble run challenge?
That depends on the space available, the number of teams and the complexity of the event. Each team needs enough people to swap ideas, help build and then test and improve the marble run. With the right team size, everyone is actively involved. Just ask us. We will be happy to advise you.

What our clients say

  • Many thanks for the superb organisation of the iPad Challenge during our summer conference in Warnemünde. All our colleagues took part with great enthusiasm.

  • adebar organised a culinary city tour in Rostock for our annual management conference. The tour went smoothly, and our guide was incredibly likeable and informative. Although we only mentioned our wish for a Schwedeneisbecher (a local ice cream sundae) at short notice, this stop was built into the tour. That shows how spontaneous, individual and client-focused adebar is.

  • What your team put together for GECKO's 33rd birthday was amazing! The venue was simply fantastic, every single detail was lovingly designed, and working with you was so relaxed that we had a great deal of fun.
