At a glance

Head over heels for the sea: Rügen is Germany's largest island. It lies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which for us is the most beautiful state in Germany. Its immediate neighbours are the Hanseatic city of Stralsund and the island of Hiddensee, both great destinations for an incentive trip too. For our team building events, though, we stay on Rügen. Even two or three days aren't enough for all the island's highlights. You'll simply have to come back!

Germany's largest and most populous island lies just off the coast of Western Pomerania. It isn't nearly as flat as people say. Alongside fine sandy beaches and reed-fringed Bodden (coastal lagoon) shores, the famous chalk cliffs rise up. The chalk coast stretches for 11 kilometres through Jasmund National Park in the north-east.

The other beaches are impressive too. Sellin, Binz and Sassnitz are livelier, while elsewhere the beaches are small and quiet. Everyone finds their own stretch of sand here.

Rügen, my island beauty

Strictly speaking, the island is made up of lots of small peninsulas with sea inlets in between. Bridges near Stralsund connect it to the mainland. Long beaches and high chalk cliffs define the scenery. In summer it's busy, and in winter things quieten down.

  • The chalk cliffs

Rügen's landmark has been drawing people for centuries. Green forests, white cliffs and turquoise water sit one above the other. Jasmund National Park has plenty of viewpoints. The best view is from the skywalk, at a dizzying height. From land, from the water or both: a visit is a must.

  • The island's hotels

Rügen has small, secluded places as well as large hotels right on the beach. We find the hotel that suits your group, and the fresh sea breeze comes free of charge. For your overnight stay we work with suitable partners, such as the Cliff Hotel with its elegant suites or the Meerblau Sellin with its modern rooms.

  • What Rügen has in store for your team

On Germany's largest island you are surrounded by nature. Water babies, adrenaline junkies and forest bathers all feel equally at home here. Even if you've been before, you'll discover something new. You're guaranteed to want to come back.
