At a glance

An incentive the northern way: steep cliffs, quiet lakes and the Bodden (coastal lagoon) landscape. Plus towns with more to offer than brick Gothic. On the Baltic coast and inland alike, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania always has more to sea.

The state has 794 islands and 73 health resorts, and its slogan is "MV tut gut" (MV does you good). So do your employees some good too and come to Germany's most multifaceted state.

There are as many incentive activities here as there are grains of sand on the beach. And we know a thing or two about the sea. Take a pleasure steamer across the Mecklenburg Lake District or sail the Baltic Sea on a traditional ship. Cycling is a great way to get around, and Trabant or vintage car rallies create plenty of shared memories.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a place to live and travel

  • Palaces, manor houses and seaside architecture

This land of palaces and manor houses is steeped in history. Almost 2,000 of these buildings still stand, and many of them tell stories that have nearly been forgotten. The Baltic seaside resorts matter architecturally too. All along the coast you'll find towns shaped by their distinctive resort architecture.

  • Sea buckthorn and amber

Sea buckthorn and amber are among the treasures of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Search the beach for your very own piece of amber. And if luck isn't on your side, sea buckthorn treats will make up for it. Small producers all over the state turn the "lemon of the north" into jams, spirits, sweets and oils.

  • Food

Things get rustic with a fish roll at the harbour, surrounded by gulls. Add to that specialities such as Kak't Dösch (cod with vegetables), Stralsund fisherman's stew, Rügen eel soup, Sassnitz herring with potatoes and Doberan fish soup. If you love fish, you'll find everything you could want here.

Those who don't eat fish will also leave full and happy. Local restaurants buy regional produce and cook with plenty of variety.

So pack your swimming costume and sunglasses. On your incentive in MV there's always more to sea!
